Jess Yee is a creative photographer, videographer, editor, and all-around artist. She is currently a senior at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, majoring in Journalism and Media Studies with a minor in Digital Communication, Information, and Media. From a young age, Jess has been passionate about creativity and expression, with her artistic journey beginning with illustration and videography, later expanding into photography -- where she discovered a love for portrait photography. Over the years, she's developed her skills in video and photo editing, using tools like Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, and Premiere to create compelling visuals.
At Rutgers, she's honed her skills through a mix of academic pursuits and hands-on experiences. Her coursework spans media ethics, digital technology, public relations, and participatory culture, providing her with a strong foundation in modern communication strategies. Beyond academics, she's an active member of HerCampus magazine and a proud competitor on the Rutgers U.S. Collegiate Ski & Snowboard Association team.
Professionally, Jess has developed expertise in social media management, photography, and content creation through her role working as a social media manager and creator -- crafting engaging campaigns, mentoring teams, and producing visually compelling content. She excels in transforming ideas into creative content, dynamic designs, and imaginative art.

In addition to professional work, this page also features projects I’ve completed as a student, highlighting the skills I’ve honed through academic assignments and creative challenges. These pieces reflect my growth, experimentation, and passion for visual storytelling and strategic communication.
Product Photography
This collection features commercial photographs that I carefully planned, produced, and edited to bring brand narrative to life and showcase product quality in the best way possible.
From brainstorming visual concepts to perfecting the final edits, I was involved in every step of the process, using my skills in photography, videography, and editing to create something truly impactful.
I relied on tools like Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, and Premiere Pro to make each piece polished and professional. These programs helped me fine-tune colors, highlight details, and create visuals that connect with various brand identities.
During my senior year in college, I created a commentary video discussing the impacts of social media and overconsumption -- and what we may be able to do as consumers to combat the mental financial, and environmental impacts of consumerism.
